What is Lancaster Art Vault?

The Lancaster Art Vault is a space for artists to create, collaborate and market their art, coupled with large flex space for events, gatherings, markets, and education. With a prime central location at 100 North Queen Street, the Lancaster Art Vault will connect artists, residents and visitors from all communities while actively participating in the neighborhood. The first floor of the building lends itself to individual maker spaces and studios with over 15,000 square feet, high ceilings, secure studios, and lots of natural light. The basement offers an additional 7,000 square feet which will be transformed into classroom space, performance rehearsal space, storage, and additional studio space. Formerly a bank building, the Lancaster Art Vault team will preserve the history of this downtown landmark while transforming it into an inspiring, creative, and welcoming art destination. Warm woods and plenty of sunlight coupled with industrial elements will work together to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration across creators of all disciplines.

Why join Lancaster Art Vault?

Lancaster has a vibrant artists community and has become a destination for the creative arts. From Gallery Row to the 300 block of North Queen Street, our community shows its creative pulse through colorful vintage shops, collective galleries, individual artists specializing in oils, photography, pencil, film, sculpture and digital, interior art, culinary art, theater art, the PA School of Art…we could go on and on. What may be missing is space and the technology to support our artists. Space to create, space to meet, to market and to sell. The Lancaster Art Vault is centrally located in the middle of downtown, bordering Binns Park, a block from the Square, the Convention Center Gallery Row and 300 North Queen. A central marketing and point of sale system will allow artists to put their entire library of work on our system digitally, and the details and sales info of all pieces in the gallery will be accessed through QR codes. By creating a centralized system, we can better market our artists and partner in their success. We have the space; we have the technology and we have the vision – Join us and be a part of the growth of arts in Lancaster City!

The Space

The Lancaster Art Vault will feature a variety of spaces with different layouts to match the needs of our creators. Lancaster Art Vault events including live demonstrations, lectures, art markets and networking will be held in the flex event space and outside, protected for the elements. We will be a destination for First Fridays, Art Walk, and downtown celebrations where guest artists will be invited to show their work alongside our resident makers. In addition to the general studio and flex event space, a large classroom in the basement of the building with storage and natural light will allow for educational opportunities across all disciplines. Back on the ground floor will be a space for a coffee and light bites the perfect space for a creative in the culinary field. The Art Vault vibe will be creative, community focused and supportive.
