This October and November, the U Gallery presents Orenda: Seneca Art & Magic, featuring the work of Kristin Witbeck Lee, a Certified Tribal Seneca Artisan whose paintings draw deeply from her Haudenosaunee heritage and her connection to water, nature, transformation, and the living energy of the world around her.

Known by her Haudenosaunee name, Ganä:gah, One Who Splashes Water, Kristin carries an Onödowa’ga (Seneca) bloodline through her father, Luis R. Lee. Water serves as both a source of inspiration and a guiding presence in her work—always moving, shifting, disrupting the ordinary, and ultimately returning to the greater whole.

A lifelong artist with advanced training in both classical and contemporary painting traditions, Kristin’s work has been exhibited at the Houston Museum of Fine Art and Ganondagan State Historic Site and is held in private collections worldwide.

Orenda: Seneca Art & Magic invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and experience painting as something in motion—an encounter with color, energy, nature, and the continual process of transformation.
