"Immature Content" — A Solo Exhibition by Brad Maurer
First Friday, May 2nd – May 31st
Lancaster Art Vault is proud to present "Immature Content," a solo show by resident artist Brad Maurer, featuring a collection of cartoons drawn over the years that are sharp, silly, and unapologetically irreverent. With a style that’s as offbeat as it is clever, Brad invites viewers into a world of wry humor, unexpected insight, and honest absurdity.
Brad’s path to this point has been anything but ordinary. After studying art at Ohio State University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he detoured into bluegrass music and later earned a master’s degree in environmental engineering. Now retired from consulting and conservation work, Brad has returned full-time to his creative roots—and is thriving. His varied work focuses on cartooning, drawing, and body painting. Whatever style he is working in, Brad brings a deeply playful approach to art-making.
"Immature Content" is more than a laugh—it’s a peek into a life lived with curiosity and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. Brad was the cartoonist for Harrisburg Magazine from 2021–2023 and has shown his work at venues and events throughout the Harrisburg area, including the Art Association of Harrisburg the Civic Club of Harrisburg, and the Sip@Soma street festival. Before joining LAV, he was a member of the King’s Courtyard Artist Collective in York, PA, and continues to bring a vibrant energy to the Central PA art scene.
