Paint Al Fresco!
Join us for one of the most creative days of the year. Paint the City transforms the streets into open air studios, where artists of all kinds–painters, sculptors, and more– set up throughout the city to create live, spontaneous works of art. Paint the City invites the public to witness the creative process unfold in real time — from first brushstroke to finished impression.
The 2026 line up:

During the downtown Paint the City plein air event, Lancaster Art Vault will come alive beyond its walls as resident and guest artists gather to paint, sketch, and create beneath the eaves of the gallery and throughout the surrounding streetscape. Come visit Christiane David, Sara Stichler and Mimi Shapiro outside under the eaves and learn more about their creative process.
