Mark your calendars for one of our favorite events of the season – Spring Artwalk May 16th 10AM-5PM & May 17th 12PM-4PM.

Celebrate Spring Art Walk at Lancaster Art Vault with a full weekend of live artist demonstrations, creative experiences and 4 exhibitions.

Events at Lancaster Art Vault on Saturday, May 16th

1PM-2PMArtist Talk with Eizabeth A. Pituch - Join resident artist Elizabeth A. Pituch for an intimate artist talk exploring her exhibition In States of Becoming. In this conversation, Elizabeth will share insights into her intuitive, process-driven approach to painting, where layers are built, obscured, and revealed to create a sense of quiet tension between structure and openness. She will discuss how subtle frameworks, shifting forms, and restrained fields of color—soft blues, greens, and moments of deeper tones—serve as “quiet architectures” within her work, holding space for transformation and emergence.

11AM-3PM –Illuminated Trees Demo with Melissa Zane - Experience the artistry behind Melissa S. Zane’s signature Illuminated Trees in a live painting demonstration. Using luminous metallic gold paint, Melissa builds each piece through meticulous layering, texturing, and carefully timed drying techniques—bringing depth and dimension to life over time.  This demonstration offers a glimpse into her creative process, revealing how each intricate detail is thoughtfully developed to create her striking, high-relief botanical works.  Join us to see the process unfold, layer by layer.

2PM-4PM –Oil Painting Demo, History and Technique with Christiane David - Christiane David offers an engaging and insightful look into both the tradition and practice of oil painting. Drawing from her European roots and classical training in Brussels—where she studied under artists connected to Paul Delvaux and René Magritte—Christiane weaves together art history with hands-on technique. During the demonstration, she shares her approach to composition, color, and layering, emphasizing the expressive power of paint over strict representation.

11AM-2PM Paper Marbling Demo with Robin Ashby - Resident Artist Robin Ashby will demonstrate the centuries old technique of paper marbling. Using pigments floated on water, Robin will show how swirling patterns are carefully transferred onto paper, creating one-of-a-kind designs full of movement and color. Visitors can watch the process unfold step by step and gain insight into how this traditional craft inspires his contemporary work.

11AM-3PM LAV Artisan Market (outside under the eaves) - Join us at Lancaster Art Vault on Saturday from 12–4 PM for a festive artisan market under the eaves! Browse a curated selection of handmade goods, fine art, and unique finds from local makers. It’s the perfect place to discover one-of-a-kind treasures, meet the artists behind the work, and celebrate the creativity of our community.
