Felting with Ellen Silberlicht: A 3-Part Creative Journey in Wool
Join resident artist Ellen Silberlicht for an imaginative deep dive into the vibrant world of wool! Whether you’re new to felting or looking to expand your skills, this 3-part series offers an inspiring hands-on experience in fiber art. Take just one class—or complete the full series to unlock the magic of 3D wool sculpture.
Each class is $125 (all supplies included). Classes are designed to build on one another, so students must complete earlier sessions to attend the next. Please note: the majority of each class will be spent standing. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
Class 1: Painting with Wool
Create a flat wool “painting” using wet felting techniques -Take home your own felted artwork and learn the foundational techniques of wet felting.

Class 2: Using Resist
Create a hollow felted vessel using resist techniques -Dive deeper into felting by sculpting a soft, round vessel—no stitching required!

Class 3: Create a Fanciful Fish
Bring a whimsical 3D fish to life using skills from Classes 1 & 2 - Let your imagination swim wild as you craft a fully sculptural, one-of-a-kind felted fish.

Ellen’s creative journey began with clay and evolved into a lifelong exploration of fiber, form, and fearless expression. A RIT alumna with deep roots in ceramics and fiber arts, Ellen brings joy, experience, and a contagious spirit of play to every class. Her hands have been crafting since childhood, and her work—whether made of clay, wool, or mixed media—radiates exuberance and resilience.
Now based once again in Lancaster, Ellen invites you to discover the tactile joy of felting, one delightful layer at a time.
