Join us for a dynamic Artist Talk and live demonstration with guest artist Mariana Russo, a Harrisburg-based mixed media artist known for her vibrant fusion of acrylic painting and pyrography. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and trained at the Technical National University and the National Art School, Mariana brings a richly layered approach to her work, shaped by decades of experimentation with materials and techniques.

During this artist talk and demonstration, Mariana will share insights into her creative journey—from her early studies in mixed media and installation art in Argentina to the development of her distinctive artistic voice in the U.S., where she has lived for the past 29 years. Guests will have the unique opportunity to watch her demonstrate how she uses a pyrographer (burning tool) in combination with vibrant acrylic paint to create textured, energetic pieces that reflect the movement and resilience found in the natural world.

Mariana’s figurative and abstract works are rooted in her deep connection to nature, capturing both its intricate details and emotional resonance. Through this talk and demo, she invites viewers into her imaginative process—one that plays with contrast, rhythm, light, and shadow to evoke a sense of wonder.
